With trees and flowers waking from their winter slumber and beginning to bloom, spring--especially early June--is a gorgeous time to spend in the Poconos. This 4-day retreat includes daily writing exercises & workshops, daily readings, daily meditations & journaling, a private 1:1 session, daily yoga, and all meals (nine total). A 3-night stay in a delightful retreat center on a 400-acre campus in the beautiful Pocono Mountains is paid separately to the venue directly. 

Picture yourself immersed in your writing over four uninterrupted days secluded in a truly lovely retreat site with onsite hiking trails, a meditation shrine, and a wellness center offering massage and Ayurvedic treatments. Enjoy the creative and meditative vibe in the air amongst the stunning views of the Pocono Mountains, and with all your meals deliciously prepared for you onsite, you can solely focus on your work. 

 

Daily 45-min Guided Meditation & Know Yourself Journal

For a healthy balance of body, mind, and soul, begin each day with yoga taught by the retreat center's instructors; Then Guided and Silent Meditation followed by self-exploration and clarity Know Youself journaling using a unique concept shared at the retreat. 

Daily 2.5hr Morning Writing Exercises & Workshop

Each morning session will start with a writing prompt for a writing exercise, followed by a group share for those who wish to read their work. 

You also have the option to workshop a writing piece at the retreat.

You can submit a 3000-word writing piece for the workshop four weeks before the retreat. Your host will forward it to all the other attendees for their thorough reading and comments. At the retreat, your work will be discussed at a 30-min workshop, and afterward, written feedback will be shared with you either in hardcopy or by email.

One 30-min Private One-on-One Workshop Session

You have the option to meet with your host to focus individual attention on your specific writing questions, your workshop comments, or your writing projects and goals. You can build on the valuable input you heard in the group workshop and receive further guidance and insight into your work from your host. You will have the time and space to go deeper into your stories. This session can be scheduled during the retreat or afterward on Zoom.

Daily 90-min Evening Readings & Group Shares

Each evening at after-dinner readings, you are welcome to share and showcase what you have been working on during the retreat day or writing you had previously written or even published.

Additional Activities

Besides writing, you can also lull away the relaxing afternoon hours by selecting from a long list of other activities, such as taking a yoga class, hiking the onsite trails, meditating in the Sri Vidya Shrine, getting a deep tissue massage at the Wellness Center.

Covid-19 Safety Protocol

To keep everyone safe, healthy, and comfortable, all staff are fully vaccinated, and it is strongly recommended that all retreat attendees be vaccinated against Covid-19 also.

Yoga

  • Yoga classes are led by instructors at the retreat center. There are a variety of classes including All Levels, Chair Yoga, Gentle Yoga, and Restorative. Check the Class Calendar for times and descriptions.

Hiking/walking

  • Take a walk and explore Sunset Pond and Sound of Music Hill.
  • There are multiple groomed, marked hiking trails on the 400-acre property. Green, Red, Blue, and White Trails vary in difficulty levels and lengths to meet everyone's preference. Trail maps are provided at the front desk. 


Pure Rejuv Wellness Center

  • Relax and Destress! There is a wide variety of Therapeutic Massage and Bodywork to choose from including Swedish, Deep Tissue, Reflexology, Shiatsu. 
  • The Wellness Center also offers Ayurvedic Treatments and Integrative Medicine & Chiropractic Care.

Meditation

  • Sri Vidya Shrine - Enjoy your meditation time in the Shrine on the cork floor with the included props. Chairs are also available. You can also visit the Sanctuary, which is the heart of the Shrine. 
  • Sound of Music Hill - Hike up to the top of this hill and meditate to stunning views of the Pocono Mountains.

  • Shop at the gift shop for Health Wellness Products, Yoga Philosophy & Asana Books, Yoga Apparel, and Yoga & Meditation props.
